Cathy Cassidy, 1962 in England geboren, schrieb ihr erstes Bilderbuch mit acht oder neun Jahren für ihren jüngeren Bruder. Nachdem sie einige Jahre als Zeitungsredakteurin und Kunstlehrerin gearbeitet hat, widmet sie sich heute fast ausschließlich dem Schreiben. Cathy lebt mit ihrem Mann Liam, ihren zwei Kindern, zwei Hunden und zwei Katzen in einem Cottage in den Galloway Hills in Schottland, wo Schafe und Kühe ihre nächsten Nachbarn sind.
