Lia Habel wurde in einer kleinen Stadt im Westen des Bundesstaates New York geboren. Weil sie Bücher über alles liebt, studierte sie Englische Literatur in Buffalo. Später zog sie nach Großbritannien und machte ihren Abschluss in Museumskunde an der Universität Leicester. Sie sammelt viktorianische Ballkleider, besucht Steampunk-Conventions und liebt Zombiefilme. "Dark Love" ist ihr erster Roman.
